The situation in Afghanistan forced the former Soviet Union to withdraw. It was sweet revenge of Vietnam for the United States. At that time, Pakistan expected continued support, but all showed their support and Pakistan was left alone with the burning of Afghanistan.

As the national interests of Pakistan demanded his stay in Afghanistan, therefore, he supported almost all regimes in Kabul. When the Taliban appeared on the scene, only Pakistan was the one who continued his consulate and ambassador in Kabul. In addition he also allowed Taliban ambassador in Islamabad. The whole world was trying to change the position of Pakistan, but nobody succeeded. Pakistan even ruined its relations with Iran.

After September 11, suddenly, the whole world began to praise Pakistan. It became a frontline state and the world expected Pakistan to act as they wished. What the world community forgot was that for more than a decade, Pakistan was helping Afghanistan. The world community forgot both countries and suddenly remembered that Pakistan is important in this war.
